1. What is a Business Improvement District (BID)?

A BID is a defined area where businesses contribute to a shared fund to improve the local trading environment.

2. Why does Horsham have a BID?

To support local businesses by driving footfall, improving the town, and delivering services beyond what the council provides.

3. How is the BID funded?

Through a small levy paid by eligible businesses within the BID area. Our BID was voted through with a 1.5% levy to any business with a Rateable Value of £12,000+

4. Who does the BID affect?

All eligible businesses within the defined BID boundary, which is defined and accepted at ballot

5. What happens if I didn’t vote or voted against it?

When a BID is approved by ballot, all eligible businesses are required to contribute yearly over the 5-year term, we then go to re-ballot for a second term

6. What does Your Horsham do for businesses?

We champion businesses to external partners and local authorities, grow Horsham as a destination town through marketing, events, and reporting environmental concerns. We also support businesses by providing access to funded training, creating opportunities to connect and collaborate, and offering guidance on recruitment, cost savings, and shared challenges.
